James Morris Edwards, Jr. was born in Connerville, OK on February 21, 1928 to James Morris Edwards, Sr. and Delylah (James) Edwards. He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 83. James graduated from the Chilocco Indian School and attended and graduated from the Naval Air Force Academy. He was a member of the Chilocco Executive Board and was inducted into the Chilocco Hall of Fame. He held the position of Vice President of the Choctaw Code Talkers organization and was a member of the Tulsa Indian Methodist Church. James loved the sport of bowling, golf and football. He is survived by his wife, Jeanie; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Samantha, of Tulsa; and a host of cousins and friends.
