James A. Nunn
Obituary
James Arthur Nunn was born September 15, 1940 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Claud W. and Juanita Agnes (Campbell) Nunn. He passed from this life Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 75. He was a 1958 graduate of Commerce High School, received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from Northeastern State University and earned his Master’s degree in Counseling from Pittsburg State University.
James worked as a counselor and a teacher for several years before taking a position with U.S. Department of the Interior where he served in Palau and Guam. James returned to Oklahoma where he worked for 33 years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. James was very active with his family and his church, serving as scout leader, PTA president, singing in the church choir and the church quartet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Nunn; and his sister, Evelyn Claude. James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynda; their children, Michael and his wife, Jill Nunn and Jamie and her husband, Gary Thomson; his brother, Jerry Nunn and was the proud Poppy to 6 granddaughters, Cassidy, Abby, Sarah, Emily, Bethany, and Brianna.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2015 at Riverside Baptist Church. A private family committal will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jim and I went to church and school together. I always considered him as one of my best friends. He and our gang spent many great times together. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, and send our condolences to his family. We would have surely attended his services, but I am currently undergoing daily radiation treatments and will be unable to make it at this time. Dear Linda and Family, I was a classmate of Jim's at Commerce all throughout school. His mother and my mother knew each other very well as they both were teachers. Jimmy ( he was known then) used to come to my house to visit especially in the summer. He was always cracking jokes and was well thought of by everyone.
