Hester Mae Sanders

Hester Mae (Golden) Sanders was born February 20, 1938 to parents Vollon Golden and Lilly (Phillips) Golden in Blue Mound, OK. Both parents and siblings John Golden, Dolly Mae Poindexter, Joyce Marie Harris, Vollon “Bo” Golden, Jr. and Vapor Golden preceded her in death. Children Phyllis Thierry, Tina Bell and Cynthia Welsch also preceded her in death.

Hester Mae met and married Luscious Thierry. She later met and married Vann “Jimmy” Sanders. She worked at Hillcrest Medical Center for several years as well as other jobs; lastly for Barry & Karen Davis. She attended the Church of Christ Church in Tulsa. She loved to cook and garden.

She leaves to mourn her memory, siblings Lavada Trimble, Marvin Golden (Jan), Len Hills (Alice), Leonard Hills (Jenny). Sister-in-laws, Addie Golden and Gail Golden. Five children Michael Thierry (Debra), Sherry Brown, Eugenia “Renee” Ward (Earnest), Vanessa Sanders (Michael) and Michelle Donald. Several grandchildren who lovingly calls her “NaNa”. Nieces, nephews and a host of friends and family.

Hester Mae will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22 and her funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23 both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and Chapel. She will be laid to rest following at the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee, OK.
