Helen V. Garrett, 96, died Friday, May 7, 2010 in Norman, OK where she has lived the past ten years. A retired Foreign Service Officer, she grew up in Tulsa County, joined the State Department in 1941, serving in Washington, D.C. and overseas. She was a member of the U.S. Secretariat to the International Civil Aviation Conference in 1944; also of West Indian Economic Conference, St. Thomas, V.I., 1946. After her return to Tulsa, she was a volunteer at the Tulsa City-County Library. Survived by her sister: Frances McIntyre of Norman, OK. Preceded in death by her sisters: Lois Pittman of Temple, TX and Wilma Baker of Albuquerque, NM. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11th at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
