Harold Staadt

Harold Ellsworth Staadt, Jr., 89, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Muskogee after a brief illness. Born in 1921 in Richter Community, near Ottawa, KS, to Harold E. Staadt, Sr. and Olive Mitchell Staadt, he was raised on the family farm. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1944, he was employed as a chemical engineer by Dowell division of Dow Chemical, at their North Utica facility in Tulsa. Also that year, he married Lucille Owen, whom he had met at college, and they enjoyed 63 years together, raising 2 boys and making wonderful memories in their south Tulsa home. Harold and Lucie were long-time members of the Joynor Class of Tulsa's First United Methodist Church. Harold retired from Dow in 1985, with 41 years of service. He was a reliable, loving husband and father, whose lessons were taught by example, facing adversity with courage and life's everyday ups and downs with a profound sense of humor. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his father, mother, and his wife Lucille, Harold is survived by son Neil of Muskogee, and son Randy, his wife, Elsa and their daughter, Lily (Harold's granddaughter) of Norman. Visitation will be held 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, April 15, in the Ninde Woodland Chapel. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 16, in the Sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church.
