Harold Raymond Carlton

Harold Raymond Carlton was born July 6th, 1934. He was the oldest of 6 children, born to Sam and Ida Carlton, in Arkansas. He entered Heaven on Friday, November 27th, 2020 at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 21 days. He came to Oklahoma in his early twenties and met Shirley Gosnell, whom he married in September of 1954. Together they had 3 children.

Harold was a delivery driver for Safeway/Homeland for many years. After retiring from Safeway/Homeland he drove a school bus for Sperry Public Schools and loved the time he got to spend with the kids on his route. He retired from Sperry Public Schools in May of 2012. Harold loved spending time with his wife, Shirley as they traveled the country, pulling their travel trailer, attending church camps, and visiting family and friends.

He was a charter member of Eastmore Park Church of God Holiness in Tulsa for many years, until the church eventually closed its doors. Harold was a faithful man of God and served in many churches throughout his life. He was loved by everyone who knew him and he never met a stranger.

Harold is survived by his two sons, Michael Carlton of Tulsa, OK, David Carlton and his wife Rhonda of Springfield, MO, and daughter Judy Austin of Owasso, OK, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Harold will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3 at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. His funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4 at the Hope Community Church, 4928 E. Latimer Street.
