Obituary
Gwendolyn Irene Simmons was born on July 9, 1924 in Nuyaka, OK to Elbert Monroe Gouge and Fanny Maude (Carpenter) Gouge. Gwen passed from this life in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the age of 92.
Gwen retired from Sun Oil Company as an Administrative Assistant. She and her late husband, Thurman W. Simmons attended 29th & Yale Church of Christ for over 50 years. Thurman preceded her in death December 12, 2014 after 67 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Cyndi Gould and a sister and brother-in-law Helen and George Curtis. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Lanny Lambert of San Antonio, TX; son-in-law, Nick Gould; her grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Lambert, Audrey and Paul Isham, Philip Lambert, Taryn and Kris Ledford and Natalie Gould; her great grandchild, Avery and Nicholas Ledford and Crystal and Autumn Gould; her sister-in-law Margaret and her husband Carl Alred of Tulsa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the 29th & Yale Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Dear Debi Hello! It's been a long time since I've seen you or Cyndi or your parents. I am so deeply sorry about your mom, but totally shocked to find out about Cyndi's passing as well! They both were special people to me. I looked up to your mom's spiritual outlook of things, but I just don't have the words to explain my feelings about Cyndi being gone so early.
