Obituary
Geoffrey “Geoff” Charles Patterson, 42, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 16th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is survived by Jackson Cash Patterson, 14, and Lincoln Charles Patterson, 5, as well as his parents, Charles and Mary Patterson, and siblings, Aubrey Ringleb and Lesley Patterson.
With an infectious grin and a persistent sense of humor, Geoff lived his life serving others with his heart on his sleeve. Geoff grew up in a loving home in Tulsa, OK and graduated from Bishop Kelley High School, later receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from his beloved University of Oklahoma. Geoff was incredibly smart, or as he might say “stupid smart.” He earned the title of Junior Sales Associate of the year in his first year working at Unum Provident in California. He later went on to work in the real estate industry but ultimately found his calling counseling others at Sangha, a sober living home.
It did not matter what day or time you called, Geoff answered… especially when it was to ask him to go fishing. No one could catch fish like Geoff. Sooner football, icees, movies, ice cream, music – if you know Geoff, you know that when he loved something, it was hard not to share that contagious energy.
There are only two things that Geoff loved more than God: Jackson and Lincoln. Being a father was Geoff’s greatest accomplishment and while he was the first to admit he was not perfect, his love for his boys was unconditional.
To honor Geoff, we must acknowledge his message, which was so impactful to so many. A message of strength against the torment of addiction and a will to keep fighting for progress, not perfection. Geoff’s testimonials and journey is felt worldwide. Geoff was the first to set aside judgment, forgive blindly, and use his struggles as a lifeline for others.
The only thing left to say as a tribute to Geoff is: Boomer Sooner buddy! Your boys will carry out your legacy and will be loved beyond measure. We will miss you always and all ways – rest in peace now.

I just heard of your passing…Geoff, it can’t be. You brought so much light to this world…so much positive energy and love. God’s love! You changed so many lives for the better, including mine! I will so miss your smile and your bright personality!!! Geoff and I met around 2007…at that time we were both going through difficult times in our lives and he was there to listen. Geoff and I worked together at Unum in San Diego. He has always stood out in my mind -- he was so smart, full of joy and always smiling. My entire family went to Texas Tech and he loved to tease me about OU beating Tech (and they always did). He was a great guy and good person. I'm so sorry to hear about his loss.

I met Geoff thru a mutual friend when I returned from Betty Ford in May 21. Geoff immediately and with enthusiasm took me on as a sponsee. Over the coming months we became friends, met weekly, and always did our daily gratitude list. He was an exceptional man and sponsor for others suffering from addiction. I will miss you brother.
