Obituary
Elmer Orland Wilkes was born on Christmas Eve 1920 in Dover, OK to I. O. and Delilah (Coleman) Wilkes. Elmer passed from this life on Friday, June 18, 2016 at the age of 95.
On June 23, 1944, Elmer entered in the Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged on April 6, 1945 as a Steward’s Mate 2nd class.
Elmer was preceded in death by his wife Leliah Cossman Stone. He is survived by his many friends and his church family at Gilcrease Hills Baptist Church.
His funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Gilcrease Hills Baptist Church, 2001 W. Newton Street, and he will be laid to rest beside his mother in Blackjack Cemetery, Taft, OK.
