Ella Rosemary Gates

Ella Rosemary Gates was born November 23, 1924 at Drumright, OK to John Houston “Pat” Badger and Nell Badger. She passed from this life on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 90.

Rosemary attended grade school through high school at Drumright, OK. After graduating from high school in 1942, Rosemary received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce in 1945 at the Oklahoma A&M College (today known as Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK). After graduating from college, Rosemary worked a few years as a secretary but her main occupation was that of being a homemaker.

Rosemary was a Sunday School teacher, an accomplished pianist, and a volunteer Bible study leader at Assisted Living Centers and other gatherings. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, reading Christian books, listening to preachers on the radio, and selflessly serving others. Her two favorite Bible verses were John 15:5 and Colossians 1:27. Rosemary lived her life according to her strong Christian faith. It was Rosemary’s hope and her life’s purpose that others would come to know and experience God’s love, forgiveness, and saving grace.

Survivors include one son, Danny Rowell of Broken Arrow, OK, two daughters, Janice James of Russellville, AR and Joyce Cox of Leonard, OK, two granddaughters, Andrea Stamper of Chouteau, OK and Amanda Osborne of Maumelle, AR and two great-grandchildren, Karson and Kelsey Stamper, along with several nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death were a sister Patty Hickman and a brother Jack Badger, both of Drumright, OK.
