Dorotha Lowery

Dorotha Ann (Davis) Lowery was born September 1, 1925 to Walter Isaac & Lona Viola (Cates) Davis in Wewoka, OK and passed from this life March 13, 2014 at the age of 88.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James S. Bullington and Allen Coe May. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Lowery; her sister, Kathryn L (Kay) Welch; her son, Jack Scott Bullington (Curry); her daughter, Janna Sue Wise; her nephew, Barney Welch (Vickie); her grandchildren, Darrell A. Wise (Terry), Damien J. Wise (Lisa), Diona Bullington Johnson (James), and Aaron Keith Bullington (Tabatha); and 16 great grandchildren.

Dottie and her beloved husband Joe were members of Tulsa University Methodist Church. Dottie had been a member of Christ Methodist Church. They enjoyed spending time on lakes Eufaula and fort Gibson. She was enthusiastic about knitting and crocheting. She made many scarfs and afghan blankets for family and church members. As a child she enjoyed ice skating and fishing. Later, she was an avid bridge player and sang with the Tulsa New Bells for many years.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to University Methodist Church.
