Dorene Hilsabeck Parks

Dorene Hilsabeck Parks was born on August 11, 1922 and raised in East Tulsa, the daughter of Willis and Dora (Atkins) Hubbs. She attended East Central High School graduating in 1940. Dorene passed from this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of 92.

Her husband, Bud, was the love of Dorene’s life, who met while dancing and were married in 1987. They jumped headlong into an active life of dancing, golf and travel. Bud and Dorene were longtime members of East Side Christian Church in Tulsa, singing in the choir and attending the Friendly Couples Sunday School Class.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud; her parents; brother, George and sisters, Gladys and Beulah. She is survived by her son, Mike Hilsabeck and his wife Linda and their children Seth, Natalie and Alex; daughter, Connie Cope and her husband Jeff and their children Shane, Sara, Dylan and Michael; daughter, Robyn Hilsabeck and her son, Hayden; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dorene was dearly loved by all of her family and many friends and her sweet demeanor will be greatly missed.

Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma. Dorene’s family wants to thank the staffs of Country Club of Woodland Hills (Residential Care), Inverness Village Redbud Court and St John’s Hospital CMO Unit whose care, assistance and love in Dorene’s last years, days and hours will never be forgotten.
