Donald Johnson

Donald Johnson was born February 4, 1936 in Okmulgee, OK to Richard Johnson & Beatrice Smith and passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on March 31, 2015 at the age of 79.

Donald moved to Snake Creek (Bixby), Oklahoma at an early age, in which he lived most of his adolescent years. He later moved to Tulsa, where he attended Booker T. Washington High School. He begin his career as a boiler engineer at Cintas. He ended his career with Superior Linen after 51 Years of service in 2009. Upon retirement, The Smith family noted that he would always be considered a part of their family. He attended Antioch Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and landscaping. He was the ultimate handyman, from home improvement projects to repairing automobiles, especially Ford pick-up trucks! He was fond of collecting old comic books and watching professional football. Donald enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family and was a great family man. His pride and joy was his wife, children and grandchildren!

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, JD Smith and Richard Johnson, II; his sisters, Dorothy Smith, Bessie Westbrook, Margaret Johnson, and Gertrude Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mae (Finley) Johnson; his son, Bobby of Tulsa; his daughter and son-in-law, Natisha & John of Dallas, TX; his son Jamaica of Baton Rouge; his brother, William Johnson, Jr. of Tulsa, OK and his sister, Frances (Johnson) Pruitt of Cherry Valley, CA; and his grandchildren, Jadyn, Jamaica Kingston, Serenity, Christian, Kailand, Jailand, and KamDon (namesake).

Donald will lie in state 10-8 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Antioch Baptist Church, 110 E. 56th St. North, Tulsa, OK. He will be laid to rest at Snake Creek Cemetery, Bixby, OK.
