Dolores Pfaff

Dolores Pfaff was born September 15, 1929 to William and Helen (Finalle) Armagost in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania. She passed from this life Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 87. Dolores was raised in a small coal mining town in rural Western PA, near the home of Punxsutawney Phil. After high school, Dolores left for the big cities of Baltimore, MD and Washington D.C.

Dolores became a stewardess with Capital Airlines and as such was able to travel extensively along the East Coast and throughout the Caribbean. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Raymond, who was stationed at nearby Ft. Belvoir and, coincidentally lived in the same apartment building in Alexandria, VA. After a brief courtship, they were married April 12th, 1958 in the Washington National Cathedral. After a honeymoon in Jamaica, they moved to Southern Louisiana. In 1966, after numerous relocations, Raymond and Dolores settled in Tulsa. There they not only raised their five children, but also fostered numerous others.

Dolores enjoyed many hobbies and interests during a long and varied career. Born from her true passion of cooking, Dolores taught cooking classes, owned a restaurant as well as a kitchen equipment store. Dolores also liked gardening and traveling, especially back to a family farm in Pennsylvania.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray; their 5 children, Cindy McKinney and Andy Turner of Tulsa, Vickie Kelley and her husband, Marty of Tulsa, Curtis Pfaff of Tulsa, Leslie Henzlik and her husband, Doug of Stilwell, KS, Larry Pfaff and his wife, Courtney of Leawood, KS; and by 10 grandchildren; Christina and Brianne McKinney, Joseph and Elaine Kelley, Josie, Faith and Hudson Henzlik, Landon, Blake and Addie Pfaff.

The family is planning a private memorial service.
