Obituary
Deborah Sue (Cawood) Wilson was born July 29, 1955 in Covington, KY to James Middleton Cawood & Mildred Edith (Brock) Cox and passed from this life on May 27, 2023 at the age of 67.
Debbie was full of joy and compassion for others. She was an amazing artist, as she held her title of floral designer for 37 years; she was always creating something beautiful. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her husband Ted, if they weren’t at their flower shop, you could find them on their back porch watching a movie or out enjoying a meal together. Debbie adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them at every chance she got. She had a deep joy from the Lord that was not circumstantial; it truly was just a part of who she was. She cared for others so well and had a way of making anyone who stepped through her doors feel at home. Whether you were at her house or in her floral department, she would take care of you like you were her own. Debbie’s legacy of hospitality and joy has left a lasting impression on those who loved her and will be carried on for years to come.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father and her step-father, Virgil Elmo Cox; her son, Jameson Wilson; and her sister, Barbara King. She is survived by her mother; her husband of 49 years, Theodore R. Wilson; her daughter and son-in-law, Olivia & BC Lee; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Tatiane Wilson; her sisters, Glenda Landrum and Carol Cawood; her brothers, James Cawood and Gary Cawood; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, both in the Victory Christian Center Chapel, 7700 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136.

I’ve been a customer at Ted & Debbie’s for many years. Debbie was always a bright spot in the visit. She was fun & lively, even when she may not have felt well. I know she fought hard to be here. My thoughts are with Ted & the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Debbie and I grew up together and have been friends since we were both in diapers. After Debbie moved back to Newport and she went to high school there, we kind of lost touch with each other until about 5 years ago. Debbie was in town and our brothers set it up to surprise Debbie with me meeting her for dinner. When she was in the parking lot and she saw me, she dropped her purse in the middle of the street and came running to meet me. It was the best feeling to see her and spend time with her after all these years. I have so many great memories of the two of us. She will always have a piece of my heart. Rest in peace my dear friend.

This beautiful lady was so loved and talented. I was her floral rep for silks for over 25 years. She would get on my floral truck, buy silks, chit chat about kids and grand kids and never complain. She might not of been feeling the best that day but always kind and professional. I am so lucky to have known this beautiful soul. Go make heaven as joyful and beautiful as you made all that new you Miss Debbie. You will be missed.
