Deania Rodgers

Deania "Dee" Louise (Burnworth) Rodgers was born June 27, 1928 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Murl Dean and Pauline (Allen) Burnworth. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of 83.

Dee grew up in Independence and married Calvin Rodgers August 29, 1947. They moved to Tulsa where they raised their family and were active in the community and First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years.

She is survived by her son, Dr. James Allen Rodgers and his wife Alice; her daughter, Paula Louise Patterson and her husband Russell; her Grandchildren, Chad Allen Rodgers, Lindsay Louise Patterson-Myers, James Hunter Rodgers and Michael Wayne Patterson; her great Grandchildren, Maryn, Marlee, Gwendolyn, R.J. and Katherine; her sister, Jean Vann; and her dear friend, Maria Martinez.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to her dedicated caregivers who made it possible for her to stay in her home during her 41 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday in Ninde Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday in Ninde Brookside Chapel with interment following in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Sanctuary Altar Fund or the Children's Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave., Tulsa, OK 74119.
