David Busey
Obituary
Richard “David” Busey was born September 12, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to Delmar Lloyd & Sadie Virginia (Arnett) Busey and passed from this life April 30, 2018 at the age of 65.
David was an active member of the Tulsa music scene for many years. In addition to music, he loved art in all forms. He was also an avid animal lover, pool player and cook. His greatest joy was his family. He was a very devoted grandfather.
David believed in spreading love and positivity into the world. He loved life with the full weight of his emotions.
Preceded in death by his parents, David is survived by his wife, Jan Louise (Zeidner) Busey; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Sean & Jennifer Busey; his sister and her husband, Carol Lloyd & Pete Barraza; his brother and his wife, William Gary & Stephanie Busey; and his grandson, Xander.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be given to the Tulsa Animal Aid.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Ninde Brookside Chapel.

Sean, I just saw this notice about your Dad passing. I remember you told me that your Dad was a musician and the family connection to Gary Busey. I’m sorry for you. Your Dad wasn’t very old. I’m 78 now and I’m finding out how precious life is. I enjoyed having you in class and I hope you are happy and doing well in your life.

My deepest Sympathy on the loss of David. I remember him from Nathan Hale and the many, many hours he spent at our home playing the piano, long talks and lots of laughter. He was quite a talented man, such a God given gift on the piano. My family and I enjoyed those times, have such fond memories and feel blessed we were part of his life journey. No doubt David touched many lives along the way. We pray you find comfort in knowing he will be missed.

Aloha Jan & Family, Words can’t express how saddened I am for your loss, and our loss too. I was sharing with my sister that the love the two of you shared was so remarkable, evident and touching. David was an inspiration to all of us Thespians at Hale. He was a true artist in every sense of the word, a multitalented soul in music & drama. His comedic genius was always on display for all to enjoy and learn from. I have the fondest memories of watching him and Gary Silvey trying to outdo each other in the pursuit of excellence which was pure magic. David was a bright light for so many of us, always generous in spirit when sharing ideas or recalling positive and affirming memories.
