McConnell, Lorene Johnson, 89, died on Sunday, August 26, 2007. Mrs. McConnell was born March 29, 1918 in Ridgeway, Missouri the daughter of Francis and Rose (Young) Johnson. She married Charles G. McConnell, Jr. on December 25, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2007 after 65 years of marriage. She retired from the City of Tulsa where she worked in the city utilities division for the accounting department. As an artist, she was a quilter having won several prizes at the Tulsa State Fair. She knitted many baby caps for children in Africa. She also loved baseball and horses. She is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" McConnell of Steamboat Springs, CO; 3 Grandchildren: Lory Lacy, Jennifer Treece and Christopher Charles McConnell; 5 Great Grandchildren: Quinn, Chelsea, Veronica, Clare and Regan Treece. Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Ninde Woodland Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial with interment in Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be made to her church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 9303 E. 111th, Bixby, OK 74008.
