Obituary
Catherine Virginia Thorpe was born January 3, 1952 in Muskogee, OK to Edward Robert & Betty Jane (Metzger) Reed and passed from this life on December 21, 2018 at the age of 66.
Cathey was a secretary at State Farm Insurance for 42 years and worked at many different offices in town but was based out of the James Gates office on 15th Street. As a music lover Cathey loved going to concerts and anywhere in town that had great local music she could support. Cathey was an avid movie watcher and spent many a day at the Circle Cinema catching whatever caught her vast interest. She read as many books as she could handle but always loved a good cheesy romance novel. She absolutely loved spending time with her family and friends; that was when she was the happiest.
Cathey was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alex & Cindy Thorpe; her brother, James Reed; her sisters, Nancy Mitchell, Carol Weers and Jayne Reeves; and her beloved cat, Petey Reed.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Tulsa SPCA, 2910 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74110.

Sending much love and condolences to Cathy's family and loved ones. She was so special to me all of my life. She was my mom's best friend and she always had a smile to greet us and always made us laugh. When my mom passed 19 years ago Cathy was such a blessing in helping me through many bad days with her kind words and memories of my mom before I was born. She would tell me the best stories. She made everything seem so simple and had a way of making you feel better by just listening and making you laugh. I know she was always incredibly proud to be Alex's mom and she would light up when talking about him and enjoying every moment she could with him and she loved music and concerts. She was a bright star on this planet and I know she is enjoying her time with others now as she enters heaven and can do whatever she wants. No doubt she is the life of the party and they are blessed to have her join them. She is missed by me and I pray for peace and blessings for her family as they go through this life without her voice and presence. She is so loved! Until we meet again Cathy! Thank you for every of your life. <3

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
