Robert E Byrd Died Thursday, February 23, 2006
Born May 20, 1946 in Carthage, Missouri, to Dr Homer E and Geraldine Robertson Byrd.
Graduated Carthage Senior High School and University of Tulsa. Served in the US Army Medical Corp in Vietnam. Earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity, St John's Church, and could be found Tuesdays and Thursdays playing golf at the Oaks Country Club.
Survived by wife, of 35 years, Ann, son, Robert H Byrd, MD, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie of Thetford, VT. "Bopa" to two grandchildren, Anna and Grant. Also survived by sisters Carolyn Campbell (Ron) of Houston, TX and Barbara Landreth, Joplin, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
