Bruce Andrew Bartovick, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 3, 1945, in Coffeyville, Kansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, George and Merhl Bartovick.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Paula Bartovick; his children and grandchildren: Holly and Casey Lamb with their sons, Zach and Blake, and Andy and Kitina Bartovick with their children, Alex, his wife Makenzie Nickel, and Maria. He is also fondly remembered by Paula’s children and their families: Leslie and Fred Kunz with their daughter, Hadley; Walter and Lindsey Evans with their son, George; and Ben and Catherine Evans with their sons, Bode and Easton. Bruce also leaves behind his brother, Mark Bartovick and wife Christiane, and their children, Kevin and Anna, of Weilerbach, Germany, along with a large, loving extended family, cherished friends, and respected former colleagues.
Bruce lived a life defined by a deep devotion to family, an unwavering work ethic, faith, and integrity. After graduating from Coffeyville Community College, he built a successful career across the manufacturing, energy, and oilfield supply industries. In 1985, he discovered his true professional calling in the aerospace sector, becoming CEO of Safety Training Systems in Tulsa, Oklahoma - a role he held until his retirement in 2019. Throughout his career, Bruce earned the admiration of colleagues and peers for his thoughtful leadership, generous spirit, and lasting mentorship.
From 1966 to 1973, Bruce served with honor in the Air National Guard, advancing to the rank of E-6 (Technical Sergeant) before his honorable discharge. He was passionately involved in the Akdar Shriners, where he supported Shriners Hospitals for Children and participated enthusiastically in countless community events, parades, and charitable efforts. He was also a proud member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 47, an exclusive organization within the Shrine dedicated to fellowship, fun, and kindness - something Bruce considered among the most joyful and meaningful parts of his life.
Bruce had a lifelong love for golf and served as Club President at Cedar Ridge Country Club during his earlier years. He also enjoyed spending time on the water, especially boating on Grand Lake. But his greatest passion was always cars - classic or modern, he appreciated them all. In casual settings, you could always spot Bruce wearing a car T-shirt and hat.
His family remembers him most for his sense of humor, deep love, and genuine interest in those he cared about. Bruce always took the time to truly listen to his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He was proud of their successes, big or small, and quick to offer support when needed. His quiet strength, thoughtful advice, and steady encouragement will be deeply missed.
A funeral service honoring Bruce’s life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following the service, Bruce will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Ninde Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Bruce are invited to attend and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Bruce’s honor at act.alz.org
His legacy of kindness, leadership, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.

I met Bruce at a Auction in Springfield 18 years ago via a mutual friend. Our friendship grew quickly because we shared love for cars and he had some great ones. I introduced him to Paula (my wife's sister) and the story goes on from there. Bruce was a very easy guy to talk to and we shared many stories. The greatest part of knowing Bruce, besides becoming my Brother-in-law was the dozens of car people I have met in his circle of friends that I now call friends. People say that Oklahoma people are some of the nicest you will ever meet, Bruce was one of those and I will miss his friendship, attending Good Guys and NHRA events and the family times we shared.
