Obituary
Bonnie Lee (Gatewood) Paris was born January 7, 1923 in Marland, OK to Earl Sherman & Florence Lee (Caldwell) Gatewood and passed from this life on October 30, 2017 at the age of 94.
Bonnie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and prayed daily that they would know God’s will for their lives. She was a supportive and loving minister’s wife to her husband Wendell and together they were a positive influence for many both in and out of the church. It was said recently by a family friend that “Bonnie was a master at taking care of her home and family”. Bonnie was a strong woman with a godly presence who will be missed by family and friends and those lives that she ‘touched’.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Wendell Oliver Paris; and her brothers, Earl W. Gatewood and Jack D. Gatewood. She is survived by her sons, Stephen W. Paris and Phillip Paris; her brother, John Gatewood; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Central Church of the Nazarene in Tulsa, OK with her graveside service following at 3:00 at Chelsea Cemetery, Chelsea, OK.

How my heart was saddened but at the same time I was rejoicing because Sis. Paris was at home with Jesus and her beloved husband. They were our first District Superintendent and wife when we began pastoring in June 1975 in Antlers, OK. They were our mentors and cheer leaders during our formative years in ministry. We loved Dr. & Mrs. Wendell Paris and was so glad to learn about pastoring under their leadership. May God bless the family in these days!
