Billy Ralph Cowan was born May 4, 1934, in Poteau, OK to Agee W. and Grace Rachel (Murray) Cowan and passed from this life on September 13, 2026, in Tulsa, OK at the age of 92.
Bill graduated from Henryetta High School in 1952 and married Leotta Yvonne “Sue” McKay on September 29, 1956. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage before her passing and had two sons, Jeff and John. Bill honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a United States Postal Service letter carrier until his retirement.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Mary Voegle; and his brother, Joseph Cowan. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Rebecca Cowan and John Cowan; his grandchildren, Molly Cowan Adams, Jace Vasser, Matt Hare, Chris Hare, Rey Little; his great grandchildren, Denver, Arrow, Mattie, Baylee, Hilary, Riley, Marley Jo and Teagan; and great great grandchildren, Charlie and Gunner.
The family wishes to thank his life partner, Roseanne Creason, who stayed with him till the end with great love and patience. God bless her.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. James Presbyterian Church, Jenks, OK.
