Betty Lou (Shaver) Veatch, 78, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Homestead of Owasso Assisted Living Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. Mrs. Veatch was born November 2, 1927 in Arkansas City, Kansas the daughter of Eldro and Christia (Kinsinger) Shaver. She married Granville Eugene Veatch on May 26, 1950 in Oklahoma City, OK. He preceded her in death in December of 1954. She graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City and held two Master's Degrees (Library Science and Archaeology). She worked for many years as a librarian in Maryland where she made her home until a month ago. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Barbara Lucile Buckle, her brothers: Adron C. Shaver, Francis C. Shaver and Robert Earl Shaver. She is survived by a sister-in-law Wauneta Shaver of Fredonia, KS; eight nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3rd, 2006 with the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Rose HIll Abbey Mausoleum Chapel, 6001 NW Grand Boulevard in Oklahoma City. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
