Betty M. Charlesworth

Betty Mae Charlesworth was born on July 14, 1928 in Dubuque, IA to Luvern Carl Norton and Victoria Marie (Stout) Norton.  Betty passed from this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 91.

She attended local schools in Dubuque, IA and graduated from Dubuque High School with the Class of 1946.  She graduated from University of Tulsa with a degree in Home Economics.  Church life was very important to Betty.  She was a greeter and loved to listen to the hymns during worship service and she enjoyed witnessing to others in need around town in bible studies at some of the nursing homes around the Tulsa area.   She loved to grow flowers in her garden that bloomed year round.  Betty had a fondness for all animals and through the years had many dogs and had birds that would she would take care of for many years. 

Betty was married to Robert Charlesworth for over 60 years, until his death in 2014.  The two of them showed love and dedication to each other and both were deeply involved in the Blind Veteran's Association and loved helping in all of their functions.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert E. Charlesworth.  She is survived by her son,  Michael Charlesworth and Caroline Tatum of Bedford, TX and daughter, Linda Ann Justice and Alan Bateman of Chandler, AZ; a brother, Clarence L. Norton of Chesapeake, VA and grandchildren: Gregory David Charlesworth, Hannah Grace Charlesworth and Natalie Grace Tatum.

The family will receive friends 5-7PM Wednesday, November 20th at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and service 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
