Betty Joe Miller

Betty Joe Miller, 87, passed from this life on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her home in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Betty Joe was born on September 3, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joseph Daniel and Lydian Mildred (Stuart) Young. Having been raised in Tulsa she attended local schools and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. After graduation she attended Tulsa University and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She and Charles Miller were united in marriage and from this union they had 4 children. They became members of First Presbyterian Church in 1959 where she was very active in the church where she taught Sunday school, served as a Deacon and was active in the Presbyterian Woman’s Association.

Betty Joe took great pride in leading “The Clip Joint’, a dedicated group of women clipping coupons that provided Goodland Academy with funding opportunities to support the mission of educating and supporting young men in Hugo, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her children, Kent of Tulsa, Dan of Royan France, Paul of Salem, Oregon and Lisa of Gig Harbor, Washington, as well as three grandchildren of Royan France. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Charles of 52 years.
