Betty Jo Lemons was born on June 3, 1921 in Bixby, OK to Ora D. Smith and Essie (Kyles) Smith. Betty passed from this life in Enid, OK on October 17, 2017 at the age of 96.
Betty worked at Spartan’s Aircraft as a riveter during WWII and later at Fields Manufacturing building camper trailers. She moved to Enid in 2001 to near her daughter, Gayle and her grandchildren all of whom will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack D. Lemons; son, Jack Davis Lemons; daughter, Betty Marie Collier; sisters, Dorothy L. Cody and Mary E. Frew; brother, Bill “Sonny” Smith and son-in-law, Wiley “Tooter” Williams.
She is survived by a daughter , Gayle Williams of Enid, OK; a brother,, Davis Smith and wife, Lois of Collinsville, OK; son-in-law, Bill Collier of Crowder, OK; grandson, Mike Collier and wife, Cheryl of Plano, TX; 3 granddaughters, Karan Collier of Plano, TX, Jamie Melvin and husband, Cory of Enid, OK and Krista Lemons also of Enid, OK; 4 great grandsons, Brennon Melvin USMC of Pensacola, FL, Alex Collier of Plano, TX, Seth Melvin and Westyn Floyd both of Enid, OK; 2 great granddaughters, Samantha Jones of Arizona and Avery Floyd of Checotah, OK and 1 great great-granddaughter of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
