Obituary
Betty Ann (Davis) Preston was born February 8, 1923 in Seligman, MO to Edgar Poe & Lucy Mae (Feeback) Davis and passed from this life at 1:23 a.m. Saturday morning, May 23, 2015 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 92.
Betty worked for Safeway groceries for 20 years as their food warehouse secretary where she became so endeared to her colleagues that they often visited her throughout her lifetime. She was known for her cooking, her compassionate giving and her ability to be content. She would often curl up in a chair simply enjoying her view from the window or reading a book with peace in her heart and a smile on her face. She was quick to reach out to others with her cooking and her compassion. Late in life Betty met Charles Neerman whom she knew was the love of her life. Their companionship and joy was obvious to all who observed them together. Sadly, he died before they could marry but his love was carried with her until her passing. As she carried his love we will carry her love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Melvin H. Preston; her daughter, Marjie Ann (Preston) Miller; and her brothers, Edgar Jack Davis and George Davis; and her sister, Marjie Jane Davis. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Maryjane (Preston) Cassel-Wood & Carroll Wood of Pryor, OK; her sisters, Doris Davis of Gentry, AR and Katherine Davis Cantrell Burnell of McClain, VA; her grandchildren, Misty Jane Lane, Christopher D. Benefield, Cary D. Cassel, and adopted grandson, Chad Miller; her great grandchildren, Kristina Lane Mozingo, Taylor Cassel, Hunter Cassel; and great, great grandson, Aiden Mozingo.
She is laid to rest at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, OK.

My Grandmama was the most love, kind and giving person I knew! Here favorite book in the Bible was Corinthians 13, the love chapter and she truly lived it by her shining example. She was my heart and I miss her so much! I know we will embrace again one day in Heaven and share eternity living the Love of God she always had in her heart. I love you Grandmama! Mama loved Clarehouse, Private room beautiful with, Snow, Redbirds, Flowers, and lot's of visitor's. She was not ready to go yet. Things happened bad medical care but she always came out of it, like Grandpa would say "A Cat with nine life's" this was 2009. Six years ago and many more times to the hospital....but never like this room.....Mama Happy!

Mom had gone thru so many hospital stays, hospice made a mistake an sent her to Claire house, they did not know Mom was a fighter,, Look at this room, Red birds an Snow outside, filled with flowers so beautiful Mom smiled the whole time with visitors always bringing her Shakes..

Betty was an amazing woman, she treated me with respect and love, and I loved her for it. It hurt me so much to see her suffer the last few years of her life, I am sure She is in a better place. I am so proud to be in the Davis family now.

Aunt Betty was always there for me. She was a great listener, very sympathetic, just an all around great aunt. Family was everything to her. She cared for her parents when they were ill. Shed loved her daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews unconditionally. She will always be in my heart.
