Barbara Phelps

Barbara Lourene (Conway) Phelps was born December 21, 1933 in Tulsa, OK to John Joseph and Alice Lorene (Stearley) Conway. She passed from this life in Catoosa, OK March 31, 2011 at the age of 77.

Barbara worked for St. John Medical Center for over 25 years as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, word puzzles and gardening. She grew up singing in church and with family. She sang with her husband, her daughters and grandchildren, and it was her singing that endured when other memories were gone.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Aaron Phelps; her sister, Annabelle Madeira; her brothers, Erold Conway, Jack Conway, William Conway and Ernest Conway; Barbara is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Vanessa & Terry Whiteley and Patricia Bonham; her brothers and their wives, Gilbert Conway, Robert & Charlotte Conway and Alan & Delores Conway; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Shupe, Joshua Whiteley and his wife Julia, Alyssa Beaver, Mallory Bonham and Kaylen Bonham; and her great grandchildren, Ethan Shupe, Tanner Shupe and Madison Bonham.

Barbara will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and a life celebration 11:00 a.m. Monday, both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made in Barbara's memory to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 6465 S Yale Ave # 312, Tulsa, OK 74136.
