Anabel Soderstrom

Anabel (Fern) Soderstrom was born May 21, 1924 in Cement, OK. She was the youngest of 10 children born to Bert W. and Josephine Anna (Martinek) Fern. She passed from this life Monday, February 2, 2009 at the age of 84. She was a graduate of Putnam City High School and attended business college in Oklahoma City. She then went to work for Sunray DX as personal secretary to C.E. Martin, the company president. She married Warren G. Soderstrom December 15, 1945 in Tulsa. Mrs. Soderstrom worked for many years in the Tulsa real estate profession and retired in 1985. She was a committed fan of her beloved TU Golden Hurricane. Whether it was gardening, cooking, fishing or opening her home to all, she just did everything well. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Warren in 1995 and her nine brothers and sisters. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet Soderstrom; daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and Richard Dixon; grandchildren, Chauntelle Foster and her husband, Mark, Kim Leitch and her husband, Mike, Jason Soderstrom and his wife, Molly, Blake Soderstrom, LCpl. Matt Blase, Jennifer and Dan Dixon; great-grandchildren, Sam Wright, Will and Katie Leitch, John Mark and Noah Foster; and many friends and loved ones. She will be greatly missed by all, but we celebrate her homecoming with her Lord and family. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Park View Baptist Church and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
