Alana Lee Simpson

Alana Lee (Johnson) Simpson was born February 15, 1953 in Tulsa, OK to Clarence Madison Russell Johnson and Paralee Opal (Nix) Johnson and passed from this life surrounded by family on March 10, 2017 at the age of 64.

Alana was a born and raised Tulsa girl. She graduated from East Central High School and went on to attend the University of Tulsa. She was a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority where she met life-long friends and sisters.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved classic rock, dogs, the University of Kansas Jayhawks and her trips to Santa Fe. She had an amazing sense of humor and infectious smile and laugh. She could make anyone feel like they were family and never met a stranger. She was also a very good judge of character.

She was fierce, brave and strong. That was even more apparent as she battled cancer for over two years. Her motto was “Never give up” and she fought every and any way she could to stay in this life. With her family by her side, she could finally let go. She knew her job here was done and her kids were in the best places of their lives. She could finally rest, free of worry and pain.

Alana was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Simpson; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lee & Mitch LaPoint; her son and his fiancé, John Russell Simpson and Tallee McDowell, her daughter, Jordan Lynn Simpson, and her grandchildren, John LaPoint and Sam LaPoint.

A private family service will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she wished to be her final resting place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Clarehouse, 7617 S.
